Where: 
Inanda Dam.  Dam Entry fee - R15/person, Water temperature - about 19°C. 
Wind directions - NW, N, NE, E, SE.

Purpose:
The goal is;
To satisfy SAHPA's requirement for those wishing to progress to the Sport Licence.
To teach each pilot how to fly better than they did before the clinic, whatever level that was.
To teach each pilot to be better prepared to react properly to an unexpected or dangerous situation while flying outside the relative safety of the SIV environment . 

Who:
The course is aimed at the pilot progressing to the Sport Licence, or to improve flying skills, or for those wishing to learn advanced SIV maneuveres; I.E.  "Spiral Dives", "Wingovers",  "Full Stall", or for those wishing to learn Acro maneuveres; I.E. "SAT" or "Loop". 

 

Content for Pilots wishing to progress to Sports Licence:
Minimum entry level of 40 flights and Basic Licence.

Tasks & Manoeuvres include the following:

- Pendulum control
- Point of stall
- Asymmetric and symmetric wing tucks
- Approach to incipient spin
- B-riser stall
- Front tuck
- Butterfly stroke landing (as emergency procedure)
- Symmetrical wingtips-tucked landing

Theory includes the following:

- Aerodynamics/glider behaviour
- Meteorology and micro-meteorology
- Flying techniques (manoeuvre set-up, entry, control and recovery)
- Dangers and appropriate glider recovery techniques
- Emergency procedures (abortive techniques and reserve chute deployment)


Content for Pilots wishing to do advanced, SIV or Acro Manoeuvres:
Minimum entry level of 100 or more flights and Basic License.

Tasks & Manoeuvres available:
-Reserve Deployment
-Wingovers
-Spiral Dives
-Full Stall (100 flights & completion of other tasks)
-SAT (Advanced pilots only - as appropriate)
-Loop (Advanced pilots only - as appropriate)
